When setting up your surround sound home entertainment system, do not forget to Check A Blown Subwoofer. You need them to get the bass, but you also need them for the complete sound from your movies. This is especially true if you love action movies.
There is nothing like sitting in the movie theater watching a terrific action movie and jumping when something blows up because you feel as if it has blown up all around you. This is the function of subwoofers, and you can recreate that feeling in your own home.
The problem many people have with their surround sound, however, is that many surround sound setups that you purchase only come with one subwoofer. You need to have at least two of them, and most sound experts recommend four, one for each side of the room, for the best, most realistic sound from your entertainment system.
The good news is that when you use multiple ones, you do not need to buy the most expensive ones on the market. They can by quite pricey. You can use lower priced ones because you will be placing them in more places. And they will add up to even more sound than one very expensive speaker.
Placement of your subwoofers is very important for surround sound systems. And it is impossible to tell you exactly where to place yours. The shape of your room will determine where all of the speakers should placed in order to get the best sound, and to not lose sound. You can actually lose sound when your speakers are place in the wrong spots or the wrong positions. This is especially true with oddly shaped rooms with open spaces in strange places. Or with very high ceilings, or open floor plans.
The best thing to do is to place your subwoofers on each side of the room and then watch a movie. As you are watching the movie, consider whether or not it sounds as if you are in the theater. If it does not then you need to move the speakers over or reposition them to point in different directions.
Experiment with the placement of your subwoofers until you get them just right. It will take some time, maybe even more than one viewing of your favorite action flick. But it will be well worth it in the end because once you have them perfectly placed. You are done and don’t have to do it again.
